Love the Pearl!Aug 20, 2009 As a long-time volleyball referee, I love the Pearl whistles. I have 7 different referee whistles and the Fox 40 Pearl is one of the two that I use the most. The Pearl is, in my opinion, more versatile than the original Fox 40 because its tone is not quite as obtrusive. It's a far better choice in a smaller gym. The sound penetrates crowd noise well and is distinct enough to use during tournament play. Because it's not quite as loud as a Fox, it might not be quite as good for a "rescue" device, but I don't think that's what its primary mission is.
If you're buying it as a referee or a coach, get it. If you need an ultra-loud rescue signal, go with a Molten Dolfin, a Storm, or an original Fox 40.

was a gift so I don't know how good is the prodoct.Jan 27, 2008 I'm upset for the mails from Amazon inviting me to rate the products. They could give away gift certificate to invite people rate products instead of sending spam every month...
