very comfortable strapJul 09, 2008
By Michael D. Adams I have tendonitis in my right elbow, and was looking for something more comfortable and less "dorky" than the cheapo "tennis elbow" straps you can buy from Walgreens or the sporting goods section at WalMart. I found this strap on Amazon, and have been very pleased with it. It has held up well, and is very easy to adjust. Once on, it is comfortable and you don't have to keep adjusting it. It also does not slide down or cut off your circulation. It is easy to adjust if necessary, and has a thick "gel-like" pad inside that presses against the outer elbow in just the right spot without constricting movement. The band has a very "sporty" look, and comes with a small mesh bag so the velcro does not get hooked onto your workout clothing inside your gym bag.
Update: In the more than year I have used it, it has supported my elbow well during weight-lifting sessions. In fact, I don't like to lift without it because I don't have the support. If necessary, I would purchase this item again, and definitely recommend it for anyone who has elbow support issues while lifting weights or playing tennis.
Update 01/25/10:
After nearly a year and a half of use, including several wash cycles, this product has held up extremely well. For anyone who struggles with the effects of "tennis elbow", this is one of the most comfortable (and "sporty") bands I have used, and I stand by my recommendation.

Relieves the Strain on Tendon/Muscle Attachment Healing TendonitisMay 08, 2011

For tennis elbow - a strain of the tendon on the top "bump" of the elbow, this therapeutic aid jelps to assist healing of a very difficult injury. The support is simply a strap with a pressure pad stiched into it. It has a clip for tightening and velcro securement. The purpose is to put pressure on the tendon/muscle just in front of the tennis elbow pain area. Center the pad over the tendon/muscle involved and secure with the velcro strap. The pressure pad will take some pressure off the tendon insertion area on the bone allowing less stress for healing. Tendonitis heals very slowly, so plan on wearing this strap for several weeks or even months (for my latest tendontitis bout it was 4 months). The key is to not do anything that aggravates the tendonitis pain, as this reinjures the tendon and delays healing. I have found that warm packs twice a day (20-30 minutes per session) speeds healing by increasing circulation to the injured tendon. To apply the heat, take a cloth/towel and place over the elbow folded so that there is about an inch or so of fabric above the injured area. Now position the elbow under a water faucet and allow warm to hot water slowly dribble into the cloth fabric and onto the elbow area. The cloth tempers the water and holds the warmed water over the tendonitis area. The water must be warm to increast circulation. The skin should be red after 20-30 minutes of treatment time. Do this routine twice a day and wear the elbow brace between sessions and the tendonitis will resolve much faster.
The tennis elbow strap is mostly comfortable to wear, even cinched up tight, stays in place without slipping, contains no latex, and is washable. My only complaint is that the plastic clip is a bit uncomfortable on the underside of the forearm. I have found another tendonitis brace, specifically, Futuro, to be superior to this brace. I give this one only three stars, mainly because the plastic clip pinches the skin. Here is the Futuro brace: Futuro Tennis Elbow Support (w / tension pad), One Size/ADJ, Black, 1 Support (Pack of 2)

Great little braceMar 03, 2008

Less cumbersome than my first one, and no latex (= no itch). Good sturdy support pad (the part that goes over the muscle). I'm getting another.

Trigger pointsJun 27, 2011
By mareem Fine for spot support, though it did make the underside of my forearm itch like crazy. Glad others found relief with this. Every injury has a somewhat different genesis, of course. Didn't do much for what I thought was tennis elbow, though the Mueller Hg80 is a bit better quality than the drugstore Ace variety.
For anyone experiencing elbow and shoulder pain, it might be good to also look into muscle/tendon trigger points as the culprit. Turned out, my "tennis elbow" was 2 areas of knotted trigger points further up under and around the shoulder blade, as tendons and muscles are a connected system. What finally gave me not just relief but healing was methods of muscle relaxation and kneading-massage techniques in "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook," using a Back Buddy ... and being more conscious of my posture when sitting at work. Took a few weeks but I was able to ditch the creams, braces, aspirin, and pain.

Eliminated my golfers elbow painFeb 06, 2011
By Jean R.

I do not rate very many products 5 star, but will this one. I have golfers elbow (pain on the inside of my elbow, near the "funny bone). The stap is very easy to put on and does not effect ones arm use at all. I have used it now a couple of times on the range and one time playing 18 holes and my pain has been reduced by about 90%. I suspect with continued use the pain will be gone completely. The only bad thing I have to say about the product is that the instructions for use are very, very poor. However, I went online and found a Youtube video from a sports trainer that showed how to use the brace for either golfers elbow, or tennis elbow. In tennis elbow the pain is on the outside portion of your elbow. For golfers elbow you put the brace on 2 fingers below the crease in your elbow and have the gel pad located on the inside of your forearm. For tennis elbow you put the brace on 2 fingers below the crease in your elbow and locate the gel pad on the outside of your forearm. If you tighten your grip on your hand you can see a muscle buldge out on your foremarm just below your elbow.......... locate the gel pad on either the outside or inside of the forearm on the area where the muscle buldges. It is that simple!
Bye the way, I also use this strap when I am doing weight lifting curls and it works great for that too!
