A simple digital soccer referee's watchJan 22, 2010
By C. Vaughan This is your standard rubberized outdoor watch. It seems to be able to handle some moisture well (ie., sweat from running as well as precipitation during games).
It is multi-function, but in practice you're not going to use all the fancy features when you're on the field.
The watch claims to have a beeper, but mine never makes any noise (thankfully! I don't want my soccer watch to beep). However, the documentation says it's supposed to beep (maybe with an option to turn the beeping off), so it just casts doubts on the overall quality of the device if the documentation & the product don't match up.
The LED isn't very bright, but I haven't ever needed it - I don't use the watch for anything but refereeing and you don't play without lights now do you? However if you wanted the light at other times you'd probably be disappointed with it.
It is relatively easy to read the watch when I'm on the field, and the buttons have to be firmly pressed to start & stop the timer, so I haven't yet had a case where the timer has accidentally started or stopped on me.
The soccer timer works well - it resets to 45:00 when you hold the timer button down for a second, otherwise the timer button starts the countdown. When it hits 00:00 it starts counting back up so you can see how much added time has been played. The watch comes with a 2nd "added time" timer, that you use whenever there's any play stoppage on the field for which you will add time at the end of the half. The theory is, any time you think you're in a situation that calls for time to be added, you trigger this 2nd timer to count up, then when you get near the end of the half you can look at your watch and see "oh! that's 2:37 of time we've wasted, so I'll add 2 or 3 minutes of added time to the game." Whether or not you use the 2nd timer is up to you, but it's nice to know it's there.
This watch is functional but not stellar - surely there has to be a better ref's watch out there? I'm giving this watch 3 stars out of 5 due to the shortcomings I've mentioned above.

Does the jobMay 28, 2011
By C. Smith As with all digital watches, you have to spend a little time reading the manual so that you can learn how to use the 5 buttons on this watch. Once you do that, you can easily use this watch for games of varying length.

Ultrak soccer watchMay 25, 2011
By magic sam Seems to work pretty well. The biggest complaint I have is that it has a preset of 45 minutes, and to change to 30 minutes you have to go up through 90 a minute at a time, which is a long tedious process. So basically with short games I've started the watch ahead of time to let it run down, and then improvise at the second half

Good ref watch - a few annoying featuresAug 29, 2011
By Carl M. Radecke I purchased this watch last week and used it on an adult game and 2 tournament games. The watch works well. I like the single noise beep reminder at 30' and 15'. The stoppage time clock feature is neat and I'm sure it'll come handy. Great watch for the price. Two minor annoying things: 1. When the countdown reaches 30 seconds, the watch beeps 10 times 4 short beeps. It feels like it lasts for the full 30 seconds and it's an overkill; one series of 4-5 beeps would probably be enough. The instructions state that pushing any button will stop the alarm. I tried pushing the screen light button (right below the screen) but it didn't stop the sound. 2. In a puzzling feature, the countdown timer can be set up to 99 minutes. As most of us referees work games of varying length, the process of resetting the watch from 45' to 30' (like going from a U18 to a U12 game) requires scrolling all the way to 99 then from 1 to 30. It seems trivial but it's unnecessary as anything longer than 45' in soccer is waste.

Well designed, easy to use.Dec 23, 2010
By Matthew Hodges I purchased this watch last fall as I started to referee soccer. It had mixed reviews leaning toward the positive. I have been pleased with the watch and it is doing everything I need while on the pitch. It keeps good time, allows me to track addded time and notifies me when match time is up and counts up once match time is complete to allow me to monitor added time.
The only features I would have liked to have seen is an indicator midway through the timer (we substitute at the quarter marks in U8 & U10 games in our region), and a vibrate option instead of the beep to be more discreet.
All in all an excellent value for any soccer referee.
