At Last!Mar 05, 2008 I've been repeatedly disappointed with dealing with overpriced sporting good stores whose employees don't seem to know the first thing about the equipment they are selling. For years now, I've been playing soccer with a variety of poor quality, shoddy, overpriced, and uncomfortable shin guards.
So about six months ago, I decided to use Amazon and pick the highest rated pair I could find. I ended up buying the Adidas Predator Repliques. I've used these shin guards through one outdoor and one indoor season, and I feel that they are about the best pair I've ever owned.
The quality materials and design offer a lot of protection without being overly bulky or uncomfortable. They've taken a few rough shots and I have gotten away without so much as a bruise. They also "breathe" better than other shin guards I've used in the past.
I agree with the other reviewers who suggested getting the X-Large for an average sized adult male. I'm 5'10" and the X-Large fits me perfectly.

Great ShinguardsDec 07, 2007 I use them to play every sunday. I choose the XLarge because I'm 6 feet tall and they were a perfect fit. The product is well finished and offer great protection for the ankles.

Great shinguards but make sure you order the right size.Sep 14, 2007 I have been using these shinguards for over a month now and have enjoyed them a lot. They are well-designed, light, stay put well and provide some ankle protection. However, be sure you order the right size! I am 6', average build and I thought that large was the right size for me. No, turned out that large is recommended for men up to 5'8"; extra large for men up to 6'2". Also, I wash the shinguards after every game and noticed that paint has washed away in a few places. If it may bother you, you might want to consider alternatives.
PROS:
- shin and ankle protection
- light
- stay put without sliding up or down
- single strap that goes above the calf muscle without restricting blood flow
CONS:
- paint may wash away
